Thank you to all my friends, family, and clients who have continually offered their support and prayers to me and my family during my Mother's battle with Alzheimer's Disease. This past year, surgeons successfully removed a tumor the size of a golf ball from my Father's intestines, and I am so happy to say that he is recovering well as of today! My Dad is the primary caregiver to my Mom, who has been stricken with Alzheimer's Disease, and so the impact of possibly losing him was felt by our family on so many levels. During his hospitalization, I stepped in to take care of Mom, and it was an eye opening experience to walk in my Dad's shoes. It was an emotional time, and it left me completely in awe of my Dad and all that he does for my Mom. I have to say that it's an utterly surreal feeling to miss your Mother so much, when she is standing right in front of you. There aren't even words to describe it...
My sister and niece joined us, and so Mom got to spend a beautiful sunny day with all her girls. She may not remember it, but it will always make me happy to know that she got to experience a few moments of joy and laughter with us that day.

A beautiful sunny evening, an old weathered train station, and the photography magic just happened. I love it! I had the pleasure of photographing Kamron once again, and I am hoping this becomes an annual engagement for the two of us. Kam is so at ease in front of the camera, and I got to experiment with some creative lighting and a little HDR imagery. Thanks for a great evening Kam, I always enjoy the creative energy that you inspire within me.
Straight out of a romance movie, Alison and Erik met in an elevator in their Seattle apartment building. (No, she didn't sneeze, and if you're old enough to get that reference, I thank you, ha ha!) It wasn't too long before they knew how right they were for each other, and you only have to be around them for a few minutes to feel the amazing connection that they share. Sweet, funny, and mellow, they are such a breath of fresh air to hang around with. We had a lovely morning together exploring Fairhaven's historic old buildings, grassy fields, and the beautiful woods along the interurban trail. I can hardly wait to see what their wedding day will hold, and I am excited and honored to be part of it all. Thank you Alison and Erik--I will be seeing you soon!
Oh swoon, I simply loved this session with Samantha and Nelson. It had all the components of a perfect afternoon--sun, fun, and ooh la la some definite chemistry! I am so looking forward to their wedding--I know it will be an unforgettable day!
When we arrived at Berthusen Park I was, to be honest, a little concerned about having to photograph Brittany and the girls getting ready in the park bathrooms. I perused the outhouses, and tried to think of creative ways to make them look... less scary. I scanned the park for signs of a bridal party, and they were nowhere in sight. I hoped that maybe I was in the wrong part of the park. And then, as I was heading back to my car, I spotted it... Brittany had brought her own dressing room to the beautiful Berthusen woods, and it was utterly and completely perfect. My heart skipped a beat, and I knew it was going to be a great day...
The first time I met Brittany, I just KNEW I was going to love photographing her wedding. She is beautiful, funny, creative, and was determined to make the day reflect her sense of whimsy and individuality. She did not disappoint, and this day was utterly delicious from start to finish. Thank you Matt and Brittany for letting us be your photographers--you guys are incredible, and I hope you have an amazing life in Hawaii. xoxo
Ha! This makes me giggle every time I see it. This is the real Matt and Brittany--sweet and goofy, and impossible not to like. :)
